Improving the Use of Traditional Medicine in Uganda · Oct 2025 – Dec 2026

Bridging heritage and science for community health

Lugazi Rural Finance Development Trust (LRFDT) is leading a groundbreaking initiative to strengthen community health through the integration of traditional medicine into modern practice. This project empowers farmers to cultivate medicinal plants, supports local clinics and pharmacies with affordable herbal solutions, and builds capacity among community-based organisations to sustain these efforts.

By bridging indigenous knowledge with scientific validation, the project transforms traditional remedies into accessible, effective products that improve everyday health outcomes. It also promotes financial literacy and sustainable agriculture, ensuring that communities benefit both medically and economically.
