Our Journey
LRFDT began as a grassroots community organisation in Lugazi, Uganda, before formally registering as a Non-Governmental Organisation. Over the years we have grown our reach, our team, and our impact — evolving from a small local initiative into a recognised institution dedicated to the sustainable development of rural communities.

Through meaningful collaboration with local government, international partners, and community stakeholders, LRFDT continues to deliver programmes that create lasting, measurable change in the lives of rural Ugandans.

Our Vision and Mission
Mission
To empower communities through sustainable development initiatives.
Vision
To build a socially and economically self-sustaining rural community for improved livelihoods.
The Heart of Our Work
We listen, we learn, and we act — ensuring that every programme and partnership creates real, tangible value for rural families in Uganda.
Our Core Values
At LRFDT, our work is guided by a deep commitment to principles that ensure both impact and integrity. We believe that true community transformation is achieved not only through innovative projects but also through the values that shape how we operate, collaborate, and serve. These values define our identity, strengthen our relationships with partners and beneficiaries, and ensure that every initiative we undertake is rooted in trust, responsibility, and collective purpose.
Transparency
Open Communication: LRFDT ensures that information about projects, finances, and decisions is shared clearly with stakeholders, donors, and communities.
Trust Building: Transparency fosters confidence among partners and beneficiaries, showing that the organisation has nothing to hide.
