Position Summary

We are seeking to recruit a Project Assistant to develop, establish, lead, guide, and manage the strategy for community service delivery, enabling the organisation and its projects to achieve their intended strategic objectives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and implementation of community projects.
  • Work closely with the coordinator to ensure project targets are achieved.
  • Mobilise and engage beneficiary groups in affordable agriculture and livelihood initiatives.
  • Prepare periodic reports and updates for donor and organisation accountability.
  • Assist in organising community meetings and trainings as directed by the organisation.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and advise community groups on weekly and quarterly financial literacy and management, savings, and credit activities.
  • Work with group leadership structures to ensure group resources are safely kept and used, and that resource-mobilisation strategies are in place.
  • Guide groups in legal registration, record keeping, and management so they can benefit from government programmes.
  • Ensure that groups carry out their respective activities as per their work-plans.
  • Ensure all groups submit their quarterly reports to the sub-county and engage the sub-county in all group work-plans.
  • Provide leadership, effective supervision, and training of the group leadership structures.
  • Ensure that all mobilised, trained, and active groups take part in developmental expeditions within and outside their geographical locations.
  • Work closely with group and community leadership structures for community benefit (Corporate Social Responsibility).
  • Uphold professionalism, patience, and commitment to serving low-income communities.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Certificate in any field.
  • Basic agricultural knowledge.
  • A minimum of 2 years in project implementation or community engagement.
  • Good writing, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Competent with computers — MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Comfortable using the internet and email as the basic communication channel.
  • Self-driven with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to multitask and meet set deadlines.
  • Attention to detail.
  • A team player who embraces the organisation's Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
  • Good communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence.

  • Living in Mukono, Lugazi, or Kayanja is an added advantage.
  • Riding and driving skills are an added advantage (with a valid licence).
